Rediscovering Our Sense of Ownership: A Call to Action for the Cement Industry

उन्हें साइट पर, अपनी मशीनों पर होना चाहिए, लेकिन वे खराब तरीके से डिज़ाइन किए गए और भोलेपन से विकसित किए गए ऐप पर समय बर्बाद कर रहे हैं [मैं जल्द ही उनके बारे में एक बहुत कठोर लेख लिखूंगा]।

आइए उस भावना को पुनः प्राप्त करें।

आइए ऐसा माहौल बनाएं जहां इंजीनियर सशक्त महसूस करें और किसी बड़ी चीज का हिस्सा बनें।

यह हमारे अतीत के सर्वश्रेष्ठ का सम्मान करने और एक ऐसा भविष्य बनाने का समय है जहां स्वामित्व और समर्पण एक बार फिर चमकें।

साथ मिलकर, हम समय को पीछे मोड़ सकते हैं और उद्योग को नई ऊंचाइयों पर पहुंचा सकते हैं, यह सुनिश्चित करते हुए कि उत्कृष्टता की विरासत जारी रहे।

There were no fancy apps. There were no GPS trackers and geofencing.

But one thing was there. A supreme thing.

A SENSE OF OWNERSHIP.

And that sense of ownership drove us. All of us.

I recently worked in some plants and was shocked by the current way of working. It's like the clock is moving in the opposite direction.

Most young engineers are frustrated these days. 

They feel like they're simply data-entry operators. 

They are supposed to be at the site, on their machines, but they are wasting time on poorly designed and naively developed apps [I will write a very harsh article on them very soon].

These engineers are forced to generate proofs of their work through so-called systems rather than doing the actual work. 

They know this, and in desperation, they keep changing jobs, only to find a worse situation elsewhere. 

How could there be any sense of ownership?

Reflecting on these memories and experiences, we need a radical shift in our approach. 

Technology should enable, not hinder. 

Our young engineers deserve to engage deeply with their work, to innovate, and to find fulfillment in tangible achievements rather than redundant digital tasks.

The beauty, cleanliness, and shine of that VRM from my first plant testify to what can be achieved with ownership, pride, and a pursuit of excellence. 

Let’s reclaim that spirit. 

Let’s create an environment where engineers feel empowered and part of something greater.

It’s time to honor the best of our past and build a future where ownership and dedication shine once again. 

Together, we can turn back the clock and propel the industry to new heights, ensuring the legacy of excellence continues.
