Shutdown planning is very easy. In fact, working in a cement plant is very easy.

पुरानी हार्ड डिस्क से कभी-कभी आपको बहुत ही काम की चीज मिल जाती है। 

और आपके लिए खुद के सक्सेस को याद करने से बड़ा मोटिवेशन और कोई हो ही नहीं सकता। आप को तो फिर उसे बस रिपीट करना है। 

अभी आप मेरी स्क्रीन पर मेरे 2009 के साल का शटडाउन प्लानिंग देख सकते हैं। मेरा शटडाउन प्लानिंग हमेशा लाइव चलता था यानी मेरे पास हमेशा जॉब्स की लिस्ट पूरी डिटेल के साथ रेडी रहती थी कि वह कितने ड्यूरेशन में होने वाला है, और उसमें कितना मैनपॉवर और कितना मैटेरियल लगने वाला है। सिंपल फॉर्मूला से मुझे हमेशा यह भी पता रहता था कि मेरे पास टोटल इतने वॉल्यूम मैनपॉवर के हिसाब से जॉब्स  पेंडिंग है, और अगर मुझे यह सारे काम ख़तम करने है तो अवेलेबल मैनपावर के हिसाब से कितने दिन का शटडाउन लेना पड़ेगा या इतने दिन के शटडाउन के लिए कितना एक्स्ट्रा मैनपावर लेना पड़ेगा। 

इसमें ऑनलाइन या ऑफलाइन जॉब का फिल्टर और प्रायरिटी का फिल्टर लगाने से काम कैसे निकलता रहता हैं यह पता भी नहीं चलता था मुझे और इसलिए मेरे साथ काम करने वाले लोग हमेशा यही सोचते थे कि मैं इतना रिलैक्स कैसे रह सकता हूं। 

यही फॉर्मेट मैंने हमेशा मेरे मैकेनिकल इंजीनियर्स को दिया है और फॉलो करने के लिए आग्रह रखा है।  

आजकल कुछ अजीब सा माहौल बना हुआ है और मैं कभी-कभी सोचता हूं कि मैं किसी अलग दुनिया में आ गया हूं जहाँ हम चीजों को ओवर कॉम्प्लिकेटेड करते हैं और उसी में उलझ कर अपने आप को एफिशिएंट समझने लगते हैं। 

मैं आज भी यही करूंगा कि रुक जाओ दोस्तों, बेसिक्स को फॉलो करो दोस्तों, जिंदगी को जितना बना दिया है उतना कॉम्प्लिकेटेड नहीं है दोस्तों।

My shutdown planning was always live. 

I always had the list of jobs ready with full details of how long it was going to take, and how much manpower and material it would require. 

With a simple formula, I always knew that I had total jobs pending as per that volume of manpower, and if I had to complete all that work, then those many days of shutdown would have to be taken as per the available manpower OR for so many days of shutdown, how much extra manpower would have to be engaged.

By applying the filter of online or offline jobs and the filter of priority, I did not even know how the work was getting done in my running plants. Hence the people working with me always used to think that how could I remain so relaxed.

This was the format that I have always given to my mechanical engineers and insisted on following.

There is a strange atmosphere these days and I sometimes think that I have come to a different world where we overcomplicate things and by getting entangled in them, we start considering ourselves efficient.

Today also I will say the same thing.
