What if I want to join Cement Industry? As a fresher or as if someone working in similar industry?

Deepak: "Actually, I am trying to join the cement industry. It's my dream to work in a cement plant. I have 4 years of experience in mechanical maintenance on a contract basis at an ACC cement plant. Every day, I try to send my resume to plants and apply to LinkedIn offers, but I couldn't get a response from anyone. Dear sir, how can I join the cement industry? Working in a cement plant is my dream."


Me: "That's a great aspiration, Deepak! Joining the cement industry can be a rewarding experience. Here are some steps you can take to increase your chances:


Step#1: Learn about the Cement Process and Machinery: Before you apply, ensure you have an in-depth understanding of how cement is produced and the machinery used in cement plants. This goes beyond surface knowledge. Get to know core equipment such as kilns, mills, crushers, and conveyors, as well as other machinery crucial to the production process. You can also watch YouTube videos to supplement your learning. Learn about the Cement Process and Machinery: However, the best way to understand the process is to visit a plant yourself. This hands-on experience will provide invaluable insights and enhance your understanding, making you a more competitive candidate in the industry. 

So, you're probably wondering, "How can I visit a cement plant?" Well, I'll get you covered. How to arrange a visit to a cement plant is altogether a different topic to discuss. I will cover it soon too.


Step#2: Highlight Relevant Experience in Your CV: Since you have experience in mechanical maintenance, make sure to highlight this in your CV. Emphasize how your skills can benefit a cement plant.

Note: Ask your mentor / professional to check your CV and revise as suggested.


Step#3: Research the Company: Before any interview, research the company you're applying to. Understand their operations, products, and any recent developments. This will help you tailor your application and interview responses to the specific company. Keep in mind that plant capacity, technology, and systems adopted can vary between different plants.
